Is there something in the water here at PoshTots? Well, that we can’t really say, but we can tell you that we are doubly delighted to have not just one but two soon-to-be first time moms on our staff. Dynamic Design Consultant Shenna is also expecting and can’t wait to give you a peek into her style file. Take a moment to get to know the fun fashionista we call Shenna – you can always recognize her by that award-winning smile.

Design Style:

My design style is ever-changing and varies wildly from room to room in my home. For the most part, I lean towards a clean, streamlined look with abstract lighting and fun prints coupled with vibrant accent colors (which you can currently find in my dining room and master bedroom). In the other rooms throughout my house – such as my living room, spare bedroom and kitchen – I’ve used warm neutral tones, bronze and gold accents and darker wood. I love changing the colors and themes of each room to keep things fresh and exciting.

Favorite Book:

Reading is by far one of my favorite pastimes, so choosing a favorite is very difficult for me. Right now, I’m enjoying The Girlfriends’ Guide to Pregnancy by Vicki Iovine, for a comical description of what I can expect in the months to come.

Favorite Website:

Pandora is a staple in my everyday life and is always streaming in the background while I get my work done. Etsy is another fun site that I just can’t get enough of!

On My Ipod:

Snow Patrol, Florence + The Machine, Portishead, A Fine Frenzy, Jack Johnson and The Strokes, among many others.

Must-See TV:

I am addicted to the Food Network and HGTV. They are two channels that I can flip through at any point during the day and be completely at peace with whatever is on… As far as prime time TV goes, my favorites are Bones, Suits and the new show Once Upon a Time (because what girl doesn’t love a good fairy tale?).

Favorite Expression:

“I started my life with a single absolute: that the world was mine to shape in the image of my highest values and never to be given up to a lesser standard, no matter how long or hard the struggle.”-Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

Our first Design Dynamo contest has finally come to a close, with much success! You submitted so many gorgeous spaces that it was hard not to choose them all. In the end, we narrowed it down to 10 fabulous finalists who collected over 5,700 of your votes!

The final days of the contest were really a close call – both Charlotte’s Treehouse Dream and The Lynn’s Shabby Chic Peek were neck and neck. As midnight approached, and after much anticipation, our winner was revealed. Without further ado, the winner of our contest and of a $500 PoshTots Gift Certificate is Charlotte’s Treehouse Dream.

We are in awe of this nursery and, quite honestly, it was one of our easiest picks for a finalist. Michelle of New Jersey not only designed this magical escape, she also hand painted the beautiful walls that make it so unique. We were swept away by the hot air balloon mobile, and are still smitten with the treehouses and birds that have “escaped” the mural around the room.

In the words of our winner,
“I like to create “worlds” for children to live in. I wanted the prettiest, sweetest and most peaceful world one could imagine. I wanted to teach my daughter to love nature and appreciate the earth’s beauty. I also wanted her to understand that imagination can make life happier. So, in short, I truly believe that having her live in this world will shape the person she becomes. There are lots of details that I could not sum up in the pictures. “Carved” in one of the trees is a heart with an arrow through it that has mine, my husbands and my daughters initials inside and, lower to the ground, scratch marks and my cats’ names. There is a soft rainbow over the dresser. I think rainbows should make a comeback from the eighties – they rarely appear in designs anymore and it’s a shame! The furniture, with the exception of the crib, are family heirlooms that I refinished and switched the knobs to ceramic rosebud knobs. The rug features frogs wearing different outfits for a touch of whimsy and imagination. It’s quite a small room, but it appears much larger because you have the sensation that you are outside in a sweet, dreamy world. ”

Bravo, Michelle! We know that Charlotte will have a gorgeous place to rest her head for many years to come.

Be sure to stay tuned for more PoshTots Facebook contests in the future!

We adore the painted cherry blossoms in this adorable tree house dream. The small details, like the rose drawer pulls and the wall-mounted birdhouses especially make our heart’s flutter.

Chloe’s girly space is just darling. Rich window treatments and fun printed wallpaper really make her room pop.

The Lynn’s shabby chic room is dressed to impress and ready for tea time. We love the printed glider, especially with the smiling surprise that’s waiting inside.

The Eimerman’s nursery is as posh as they come, complete with all a gorgeous wall mural and a bold use of black and white.

The Ferris’s safari escape has us looking in every corner for a cute animal to make us smile.

Kate and Emily’s nursery is a seaside dream. We love the seahorse mobile and the fun printed sheets.

Lia and Humberto’s parent’s did a grand job of designing a gender-neutral space. The neutral backdrop with the solid purple and blue accents make this room pleasing for both baby boy and girl.

Maggie’s fairy tale starts and ends with a happy ending. Who wouldn’t be happy when surrounded by this much beauty?

Raevyn and Sydney’s nursery is a double delight. We love the soft steciled walls, and fun hanging letters.

The Silva’s have a golden touch. With bold yet soft window treatments, and all the fine touches details that bring together an elegant look.
