Purplicious

March 18, 2011

A while back on our blog, we featured Gwyneth Paltrow’s children’s room in her Nashville apartment.  It was posted on her blog, Goop, as well.  It features our Boardwalk Bunk Bed in Eggplant.  We’ve always loved how just the right amount of purple can lend a whimsical, yet sophisticated touch to any space.

And now, we’ve discovered that it is, once again, featured on this amazing site, Nursery Notations.  Which is great for three reasons:  1) because it means that other people feel the same way we do about purple, and 2) because we discovered an amazing new site.  It’s so well done, and it speaks to our very nature as nursery connoisseurs, of sorts.  We love finding new inspiration, and this site reads like a luxurious magazine.

Oh, the third reason:  they dig the purple too!

Link Love

January 25, 2011

It’s time for a little link love.

A while back, we blogged about the room we helped furnish for Gwyneth Paltrow’s children in Nashville (where she was filming Country Strong – have you seen it yet?).  Of course, we had heard about her blog, GOOP, and ever since she featured her rooms (and our products!) on her site, we’ve been avid followers.  Simple and clean in its design (it’s broken down into categories of Get, Do, Be, Make, Go and See), we’ve loved reading about her finds and recommendations.  It’s a little escape from our every day.  Isn’t that what it’s about?

Apple and Moses' Boardwalk Bunk Bed from PoshTots

Boardwalk Bunk Bed

Gwyneth Paltrow is an A-list movie actor, mom extraordinaire and author of Goop, a lifestyle blog.  Annette Joseph is a designer from Atlanta who works as a designer and stylist for numerous TV shows and magazines.  Andrea Edmunds is founder and president of PoshTots.  Lauren Russell is the founder and creator of Russell & Mackenna, purveyor of fresh, beach-inspired, kid-approved furnishings.  So…what’s the connection here?

Well, Andrea got a call from Annette regarding a space she was designing for Gwyneth, who had hired Annette to create a contemporary, cozy space for her family while she was in Nashville filming her latest movie.  Annette wanted a purple bunk bed for Gwyneth and found exactly what she was looking for on PoshTots (“and we need it NOW”).  Andrea called Lauren (“we need a bed NOW”), Lauren called her team (“we need a bed NOW”), and two weeks later, Gwyneth’s children had a bed that Lauren delivered, Andrea had a new celebrity client, Annette had completed her mission, and Gwyneth had the retreat she craved.

And it all happened in less than two weeks.  Whew!

And here it is! Fabulous, no?

Follow the progress of the room here.
